The aim is to develop a method for a Water board that can be used for dike management, testing and policy. In addition, during flood alerts, it supplies the right information the Water board needs to take the right decisions. It is important to use available information systems, as well as to establish a link between models that calculate the load on a dike, determine the strength of a dike, and establish a picture of the consequences of dike failures.
There are six work packages (see figure below). The first four develop methods and instruments for determining strength in real time. The last two integrate and combine these cases. Application in cases from practice constitutes the link between the four sub-projects in which these components are being developed.
