DEMONSTRATOR FLOOD CONTROL ROOM AT WCIT 2010
NEWS

On May 27th, the World Congress on Information Technology , where CEO's, CIO's and professionals both in and outside of the IT sector were challenged to change their field using advances in IT, was brought to its conclusion. In the water pavillion, IBM and Deltares created a demonstrator flood control room, to show how IT standardisation and integration of information systems can significantly improve the efficiency of flood risk management.

The conference booth setup was somewhat restricted by constraints in size and setup. Therefore, we also invited approximately 20 international journalists to the Demonstrator Flood Control Room at Deltares' head office in Delft, the Netherlands. This full-size version is used for demonstration and testing purposes for our innovations in information management. In the future, it will also be used for education and training. Piet Dircke, president of the Flood Control Foundation, first explained about the scope and ambition of the program. Next, Bram Havers (IBM) showed some demo applications, followed by a very interactive Q&A session.

The WCIT 2010 has come to an end, but if you're interested in visiting our demo control room, don't hesitate to contact as through info@floodcontrol2015.com.
