MODERN MONITORING OF DIKES AT EILAND VAN DORDRECHT

The project’s objective is to add smart and reliable measurement systems to a flood defense Maintenance and Monitoring Plan. This can help to optimize decision making with regard to levee reinforcements decisions. The objectives were to add smart and reliable monitoring systems to:
1) Optimize future strengthening decisions;
2. To improve the image of the actual safety.
The proposed way to achieve these goals was to integrate sensor technology and periodic LiDAR measurements (FLI-MAP and / or DRIVE-MAP) for dikes into the design of the dike reinforcement.
